Banned from the YMCA

We took the kids swimming at the YMCA pool downtown today. They have a great little kids pool that doesn't get deeper than 1.5 feet and the water is nice and warm. There's even a little kiddie slide. Both kids had a blast. It was Harry's first time in a pool. He was not at all afraid. He loved splashing all around and hanging on to the side and bouncing up and down. He leaned forward a couple of times and got a face (and mouth) full of water. Annie loved it too. She was swimming around screaming and laughing for about 30 minutes before she settled down. Both kids went on a big twisty water slide with Grady and had quite a splash at the bottom. Annie must not have minded because she did it twice. Then, just before we were getting ready to leave Annie said she wanted to ride the big slide one more time, but not before she left behind a nice little brown floater. We didn't quite know what to do. All the signs said: all children must wear a swim diaper unless fully potty trained. She's been potty trained for months so I didn't even think about putting one on her. After apologizing profusely to the pool people (who sadly had to fish it out with a net), they had to close the pool to make sure it was sanitized. Thank goodness most of the kids had already headed home for nap time. Grady took Annie straight to the bathroom and then to the shower. While I was drying Harry off, one of the life guards said, "Man, that was a big thing to come out of such a little guy!" I told him his big sister was the culprit. We may not go back there for awhile!!!
